This course is designed to provide guidance for developing and implementing rockfall hazard mitigation using flexible-net catchment fences. The general approach from site investigation to ownership will be reviewed focusing on standard practice, available resources, common mistakes and project expectations. A major focus will be on communicating information between the various stakeholders of projects. Information provided is intended to be an unbiased, non-commercial perspective of the current state of the industry.
Presentations will be given on each of the topics below and followed by a discussion. Each module will be led by members of the Association of Geohazard Professionals.
Engineers, geologists, planners, and owners involved with rockfall hazards who would like to better understand the basic steps of applying flexible-net catchment fences and learn how to maximize the success and efficiency of their projects.
